Information you choose to send
The enquiry form sends the contact details and project information you provide directly to hello@johnneed.co.uk so John can reply, prepare a quotation and, where relevant, deliver the agreed work. The website records a limited reporting entry for each submission, including the date, requested service, location, source page and delivery status. It does not copy your name, contact details or message into the reporting database.
How information is used
Information is used to answer enquiries, plan and price projects, communicate with clients, manage contracts and invoices, deliver photography or film, protect legitimate business interests and meet legal obligations. It is kept only for as long as needed for those purposes or as required by law.
Sharing and international services
Information may be handled by necessary service providers such as email, website hosting, secure file delivery, accounting or professional advisers. Personal information is not sold. Where a provider processes information outside the UK, appropriate contractual or legal safeguards should apply.
Individual film pages contain players supplied by Vimeo or YouTube. Loading or playing a film connects your browser to that provider, which may receive technical information under its own privacy policy. Portfolio pages use locally hosted still images until you choose to play a film.
Cookies and analytics
The website uses Google Analytics 4 only when you select “Accept analytics”. Until then, analytics storage and advertising-related consent are denied. Google Analytics helps John understand page use, service interest, portfolio visits, video plays, project-form progress, completed enquiries and clicks to call or email. Enquiry names, email addresses, phone numbers, free-text messages and precise venue details are not sent to Google Analytics.
When accepted, Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visits and compile aggregate usage reports. The Google tag also records a completed project-enquiry event for Google Ads measurement, without sending the enquiry’s name, email address, phone number or message. Advertising storage and advertising user data are granted only after you accept analytics so those conversions can be attributed; ad personalisation and Google Signals remain disabled. You can reject analytics without affecting the site, and change your choice at any time using “Analytics settings” in the footer. The hosting platform may also use strictly necessary security and session technologies. These support delivery and protection of the website and do not depend on the optional analytics choice.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to some uses and ask for information to be transferred. You can contact John first, and you may also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
